SCHEDULE & PARKING
The 2026 Open de Portugal has come to a close, marking the tournament’s return to PGA Aroeira Lisboa after 30 years. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the event and helped create such a memorable week, both on and off the course.
Over four days of competition, the tournament brought together some of the rising talents of European golf, culminating in a victory for Denmark’s Sebastian Friedrichsen, who claimed his first title on the HotelPlanner Tour and set a new tournament scoring record. This year’s tournament included a strong line-up from home golfers, with top Portuguese players Tomás Melo Gouveia, Tomás Bessa and Pedro Figueiredo.
Beyond the competition itself, the week was shaped by a range of activities that brought together players, visitors, partners and the local community, highlighting the many ways golf can connect people and create shared experiences.
Thank you for being part of the return of the Open de Portugal to PGA Aroeira Lisboa. Relive some of the most memorable moments through the live gallery below.

ESG MEASURES

Sustainability under monitoring.
In partnership with PGA Aroeira, the Portuguese Golf Federation, Ecoterrae and SGS, the tournament carries the “Event with sustainability under monitoring” seal, an audited commitment that turns real practices into measurable results. A recognition that adds to PGA Aroeira’s distinction as “Europe’s Best Eco-Friendly Golf Facility 2025” by the World Golf Awards.

A course designed down to the detail
PGA Aroeira’s full renovation put efficiency at its core. A new irrigation system and a state-of-the-art pumping station cut the watered area by four hectares. In the renewed machinery fleet, 90% of the turf is mowed by electric equipment and 80% of mowing is already robotised. Less consumption, fewer emissions, greater precision.

Biodiversity that brings us together
The course is returning its native species to nature, guided by a Habitat Map and a biodiversity enhancement plan. And it does so hand in hand with Cercizimbra, through the “Jardins Engomados” project, where every plant set in the ground grows biodiversity and social inclusion alike.

Every waste in its right place
Throughout every day of the event, selective waste collection is guaranteed across several points of the venue, with a team of Amarsul monitors raising awareness among participants and visitors, as part of the EcoEvento certification.

Sustainability is also made of people
At Open de Portugal the national takes the stage. With Portugal Select, we bring olive oil, sea salt, sweets, ceramics and Portuguese craftsmanship, a showcase that values local producers and the regional economy.
Bringing the community in, Aroeira members join as volunteers, and regional cuisine comes alive in show-cookings that celebrate flavours and traditions.
